Chasing the Milky Way at Al Quaa

I had been waiting a long time to capture the Milky Way. After several attempts, this photograph from Al Quaa, Abu Dhabi, finally gives me something to smile about.

Taken on 10 October 2026 with my Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, it marks another small step in my journey as an amateur photographer. There is still plenty of room to improve, but seeing the Milky Way in a photograph I captured myself makes the effort worthwhile.

Post-processing was limited to exposure, contrast, colour balance and gentle colour-noise reduction to bring out the detail already captured.

A heartfelt thank you to my dear friend brother Jamal for accompanying me on these long journeys to Al Quaa, time and again.

Looking forward to the next Milky Way season at Al Quaa, with a little more experience and the same excitement to try again.
