About Kannan S Das
Iโm Kannan S Das, a healthcare quality expert, an author, writer, and culture observer from Kadampanad, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, currently based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With over 18 years of rich experience in the healthcare sector, my professional journey spans Quality Assurance, Occupational Health, Risk Management, Business Continuity, Ethics, and Compliance. Iโm deeply inspired by the development of systems that ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the continuous advancement of healthcare facilities.
Beyond my profession, I find expressions through words and images. Iโve published a Malayalam poetry collection, “เดเดพเดฒเดเดฎเดฟเดฒเตเดฒเดพเดคเตเดค เดเดฑเตเดฑเดตเดพเดคเดฟเตฝ เดฎเตเดฑเดฟ” (Jaalakamilatha Ottavaathil Muri), where I explore love, longing, solitude, resistance, and revolution themes that echo the emotional and political realities around us.
Iโm also an amateur photographer, drawn to light and shadow and perspective that reveal unseen stories. Architectural frames, nature and animals, portraits, and reflections are a few of what my photography documents are of the subtle reality of everyday life. My photographs are frequently followed by a poem or a story, an added meaning to the moment.
I am a socio-political blogger who follows Marxist ideology. I write about justice, equality, and class conflict, and engage in discussions that connect art and politics with lived experiences.
I write film and book reviews not as mere criticism, but as acts of appreciation and sharing. Each review delves into the narrativeโs pulse, the subtlety of themes, the craft of direction, and the depth of performance, seeking meaning beyond the surface of entertainment. These writings are both analytical and personal, shaped by curiosity, emotion, and the quiet intersections of personal experience with cinema and literature. Interviews, reflections, and small anecdotes weave through them, making this space not just a site of critique, but of contemplation, connection, and celebration.
